I have been a social worker on many levels over the last 40 years. I have been counseling in one form or another over a majority of those 40 years. I have worked many years directly in Mental Health and I have successfully counseled clients in many areas . I have counseled patients dealing with issues of depression, grief and loss, Post Traumatic Stress and many other mental health issues, In general I like to use a Cognitive Behavioral Method to redirect a persons thinking to help themselves to overcome their issue. I believe my approach is to self empower the individual to make progress. However I will employ other methods to help the individual to progress. I understand that we are all different and what works with one person may not work with another. Therefore I remain flexible and avoid being rigid in counseling. I operate from a strengths perspective and I work to build upon the strengths of an individual to empower them to overcome their issues.
