About

There are things in life that are hard to say out loud. Often it’s hard because we fear how the person will respond and whether the other person will recognize the significance of what we are telling them. If you have anything you need to say, talk about or work through in your life, I will honor that. I will not simplify or minimize or assume, but I will listen and hold what you tell me carefully. I will see you in the context in which you live, both in the ways, it limits you and the ways it supports you. I understand that you exist in a complex web of people, relationships, demands, responsibilities, and hopes. I will work hard to get to know you and understand your unique context and where you want to get to. Coming to therapy is a brave and vulnerable path to take. I honor that. If you are still reading, I might be the right therapist for you if any (one or more) of the following are true for you: You’re young, You’ve experienced trauma, you come from an interracial family or are multi-racial yourself, you’ve had a bad experience in therapy before, you’re ready to work hard on yourself to get where you want to be in life, and you’re depressed, anxious, tired or lost. I might also be the right therapist for you if you are dealing with: infertility, racism, family conflict, trauma, abuse, lack of motivation, becoming an adult, transitioning from one season of life to another, are dealing with a complex medical diagnosis, life after COVID-19, or unacceptance in any form. I see clients with an array of other issues too, but these are some that you might not know I have specific experience with. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California and Arizona and began providing therapy in 2009. My orientation is systemic, meaning I view all people as located in a time, physical space, culture, community, and family. Nobody exists in a vacuum; other people have influenced and impacted us, and we also affect other people we are connected to.
