Welcome to Find A Therapist!

My name is Jodi Wilson-Guzak and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Michigan. I have a Bachelors Degree in Education from Central Michigan University and a Masters Degree in Counseling from Oakland University. I have licenses to work both in school settings and in private practice.

I have been working in the counseling field for 20 years, working as both a high school counselor and as a private practice therapist. I primarily work with adolescents, teens and young adults, though I have experience working in the age ranges of 10-60. As a therapist, I strive to create a therapeutic environment that feels safe to share thoughts and ideas, be honest and reflective, seek change, and try new things. I have experience assisting others with Anxiety, Stress, Panic, Self Esteem, Motivation, Depression, Cancer, and Grief and Loss. My approach is goal-oriented, non-judgmental and focused on clients strengths.

I'm a firm believer in self-care and personally perform in a local wind symphony which serves as a stress relief strategy for me. I also enjoy spending time and planning adventures with my husband and three children. I encourage my clients to find self care strategies for themselves , find opportunities to have fun, experience joy and laughter. My clients often tell me they appreciate that I am down to earth and real with them.

Changing the way we think and feel can be hard work, and at times, it is necessary to find someone to guide us in the process. Therapy should be empowering, challenging and helpful. Using both a client centered approach and cognitive behavioral therapy when appropriate; we will work together as a team to develop and test new strategies in order to meet personal goals
