I am a Licensed Therapist who has lots of experience working with families, adults, teens and children who are struggling to navigate life's challenges. Overall, I have over 10 years in the mental health industry and over 7 as a therapist. I graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with my Masters in Clinical Therapy and went on to complete the licensure requirements for the State of Tennessee. My approach begins with identifying where the problem areas are and where the client would like to be. Together we then work to improve functionality and reach goals. One of my personal goals as a therapist is to help my clients discover or rediscover parts of themselves that are stronger than they realize. Many times in life we come to a road block that we need a little help getting past.
My experience encompasses several arenas from office 1 on 1 therapy to group therapy for anger management as well as court ordered co-occurring issues. I have also worked as a school-based therapist and can help parents understand and navigate the education system to better help their child receive the education they deserve. Anxiety, trauma and abuse along with social communications are my specialties and most times we uncover underlying issues such as depression, anger management and/or self-defeat that contribute. We break things down into small goals and celebrate our progress and successes as they come.
