About

Hello, I’m Jill Garman, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I hope to serve as a compassionate and helpful guide toward your personal goals by helping you access your strengths and by developing new tools and skills that will serve you currently and in the future. For over 20 years I've provided an individualized approach to counseling those with varied levels of anxiety, depression, relationship issues, complicated grief, loss of purpose, loss of lifestyle, health decline, role or identity issues, and an abusive family history. My approach Being human can be challenging for all of us. Throughout our lives we can feel lost, weak, helpless, hopeless, and distrustful in others as well as ourselves. I believe people are resilient, creative, brave, and hold strengths they often forget they possess. In working together I'll consider your culture, values, spirituality, and your goals. I focus on theories focusing on solutions, reframing negative thinking using CBT, and an integrative or holistic therapy tailoring interventions to meet your specific goals. "It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the ones most responsive to change." Charles Darwin. My focus Our thoughts and feelings are involuntary. Often negative or painful thoughts and feelings can result in diminishing the quality of our lives. During my practice clients have presented with varied levels of anxiety, depression, feelings of isolation, abusive family histories, transitions due to loss of lifestyle, death of a loved one, or those facing terminal and life threatening illnesses. Of course, each experience and intensity is individualized. Together we will work to address your pain, loss, disappointment, and whatever is stopping you from realizing your goals toward living your potential and experiencing more joy.
