My name is Jessica DeWilde and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Orange County, California. I work with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adults and specialize in pregnancy and postpartum, parenting, foster care and adoption, and the stress that comes with life's transitions. My approach I have an eclectic approach to therapy, taking into consideration the individual needs of clients. I commonly use Solution-Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy, as both modalities focus on the client's goals and bring insight to their current functioning and hopes for the future. My focus I have found that my approach is a good fit for adults adjusting to new seasons of life as well as adults seeking to understand past traumas and experiences. I hope to help clients navigate the changes they are experiencing while building the skills needed to manage negative emotions, adjust their expectations, and identify strengths to feel happy and confident. My communication style My communication style is personable, steady, and understanding. I respect anything clients bring to the table and strive to support and listen to clients without judgment. My journey to therapy I decided to become a therapist because I have always wanted to help people. I've always been drawn to supporting people and hearing their stories. There is so much power in putting words to life's experiences and I enjoy playing a supportive role as clients become the best versions of themselves. My goals for you My approach to goal setting with clients is all about collaboration to figure out what you want to accomplish during our time together. That could be developing new skills, making sense of a past trauma, or building the confidence to adjust to a new season of life. My first session with you During our first session together, the majority of our time will be spent exploring what brought you to seek out therapy. I take the time to listen before developing a plan for our time together.
