My name is Jessica Shannon and I am a Licensed Therapist with a wide array of experience working with children, teens and adults from all diversities, assisting each individual and their family with working towards meeting their treatment goals. My approach I am a believer in approaching therapy with an individualized approach for each client. It is preferred to use evidenced-based and strengths based treatment modalities to assist Clients with meeting their treatment goals. I have experience utilizing the following treatment approaches: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Collaborative Problem Solving, Motivational Interviewing, Care Skills, Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and more. My focus I have training and experience helping individuals address an array of concerns, but primarily focus on assisting children, adolescents, teens, and young adults cope with a variety of mental health conditions, including trauma and mood related disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD, oppositional behaviors, OCD, and low self esteem. My communication style It is important for each client to feel comfortable, as I strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for everyone. I believe everyone should be able to express themselves without fear of any judgement. My journey to mental healthcare I knew I always wanted to work in a helping profession, and was really drawn to the healthcare field from an early age. When I took my first psychology class, I realized that this is the field I wanted to focus. I enjoy learning about human behavior and how the brain works. I think therapy was a field, in which I was best able to help others while using my strengths. My goals for you During the intake process, it is important to me to listen actively to each client's therapeutic needs, and assist with developing short-term and long-term treatment goals.
