About
Hello,
I am Jessica Larson. I graduated with my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2007. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Illinois and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado. I have passionately helped individuals, couples, and families for over 15 years.
My professional experience includes working with adults, children, and adolescents both individually and in family settings. I have extensive experience working with couples in all stages of their relationship including dating, premarital, and in conflict.
I specialize in relationships. I yearn to help individuals strengthen their relationships through healing, honest communication, and restoration. I am a Systemic Therapist which means I like to consider how the client’s whole system (current relationships, family of origin, community, work environment, religious connections, etc) is connected to current issues in the client’s life. With a holistic approach to the client’s world, I believe we can create lasting changes and improvements.
I am a Solution-Focused Therapist. I seek to empower clients to create solutions for their complaints to create lasting change in their lives. I offer empathy, support, guidance, and introspection to work alongside clients as they grow, heal, and succeed.
I have a strong interest in working with women. I have a very long history of helping women with their struggles related to depression, anxiety, motherhood stress, marital conflict, body image, health issues, spirituality, and self-confidence. I have a specialty in working with women and couples with issues related to women’s health and pregnancy. This may include infertility, unplanned pregnancies, miscarriage, fetal loss, pregnancy stress, post-partum depression, new parent stress, and relationship changes that occur during this stage in life.
I am a Christian and therefore see my own life and values through a Christian lens. I am open to bringing in Christian themes into the therapy session if that is what clients want. I am also more than comfortable working with clients that do not want to include that in their therapeutic work.
I look forward to meeting you and empowering you to meet your therapeutic goals.
