About
I am a mental health clinician and pastoral counselor, nationally certified and licensed in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Virginia. I hold a B.A. degree in Computer Science from the University of the District of Columbia and a M.S. degree in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola College in Maryland, now known as Loyola University Maryland. In 2010, I earned a doctorate in Psychology and Christian Counseling from Louisiana Baptist University and Theological Seminary.
I can assist you with any trouble with your family, children, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, workplace stress, depression or anxiety. Perhaps you are preparing for marriage, repairing an important relationship, or considering career options. My clinical specialties are relationships, adolescents and co-occurring disorders using an existential, eclectic and holistic approach. I am a Certified Employee Assistance Professional, Certified Anger Management Facilitator, Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) and Certified Effective Black Parenting Facilitator. I work with individuals, couples, clergy, physicians and other medical professionals, military and first responders.
My therapy style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, reality, psychodynamic and rational-emotive therapy. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. The aim is transformation by letting go of yesterday and taking action to renew your ways of thinking to achieve a wonderful change in your life tomorrow! It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!
Let every day be the first day of the rest of your life, but especially let today be a new beginning
