About

Jerri Hamby, LCSW has been a clinician for almost a decade. In her time she has worked with individuals from all demographics and with all different types of conditions and challenges. Throughout my career I have focused on always learning new methods and techniques that I can add to my tool kit. Treatment depends on two things; the fit between therapist and patient and how personalized the treatment is. Every Patient comes into treatment with unique challenges, differing opinions and history of experiences. For this reason it is necessary that the Clinician stay adaptable and have as many treatment options as possible. In doing treatment I focus on my 3 core guidelines.
1) Your the expert not me. I'm here to help guide you along your journey, but at the end of the day you know you the best. If a treatment or technique isn't working for you, no matter the reason, we will focus on finding things that will be a better fit.
2) Humor is key. Treatment should be a place that you enjoy going and something you enjoy doing. While the work of therapy is hard work, it doesn't have to be all work and no play. Sometimes a deep processing of an issue may require a light hearted moment. That goes right along with;
3) It doesn't have to hurt! It doesn't have to get worse before it gets better. Treatment is something that should be added as a way to improve all the other parts of your life. Therapy should NOT be a distraction from life. Therapy does no good if it leaves you raw and hurting after every session.
My goal will always be that at the end of a session you are able to feel hopeful, calmer and more up to dealing with the challenges of life. I look forward to being able to help you through your challenges using my tools and my guidelines.
