My name is Jeralyn Gabler and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California with over 20 years of experience working with children, youth, families, and young adults. I specialize in providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to treat depression and anxiety. I have experience helping people with educational needs and providing parenting support to help caregivers manage the special needs of their children. I specialize in providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which includes a collaborative approach to understanding a person, developing a trusting relationship, and determining which problem areas to address in therapy. I help people develop coping strategies to manage their feelings and implement more positive ways of thinking in order to improve their emotional experience. I implement strategies from other theoretical approaches, such as Motivational Interviewing, Object Relations, and Person-Centered Therapy. I typically work with children, youth, families, and young adults who exhibit symptoms of depression, anxiety, ADHD, and trauma. I am experienced in helping people with educational needs and behavioral concerns, including parenting support to help caregivers manage the special needs of their children. I like to create a safe, affirming, and non-judgmental space in therapy. My communication style is to provide reflective listening to fully understand a person's experience, and this often includes asking clarifying questions. I first decided to become a therapist in order to help people and make a difference in their lives. Working with people as they make progress and reach their goals is a rewarding experience. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to help many young people improve their functioning and overcome challenges they have faced. My approach is to get to know people's strengths and their needs to determine what areas of their life they want to make changes.
