My name is Jennifer Wirfel and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York State. I obtained my bachelor's degree in Social Work at Daemen College in 2014 and completed my master's degree in Social Work at the University at Buffalo in 2015. Throughout my academic program, my experience was primarily working with victims of crime and domestic violence survivors in both a case management and clinical setting.

I find nothing more fulfilling than to help guide those who are working on strengthening their relationship with themselves. Over the last five years, I have worked in an outpatient behavioral health setting with a focus on addiction and mental health. I also have experience providing telehealth services in addition to in home counseling services for those in need of mental health care. The resilience and courage that I have witnessed by my patients has always astounded me. I am grateful for anyone willing to allow me to be part of their recovery journey. I am trained to use a variety of therapy techniques to offer support, hope and guidance. The therapy modalities that I have utilized with others include Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Seeking Safety, Motivational Interviewing, Schema Therapy as well as using a person-centered and trauma-informed approach with both adolescents and adults.

Not only is it important to have access to beneficial tools and therapies, but it is even more important to have a trusting relationship between a patient and counselor. It is essential to feel safe when allowing someone to be part of your healing process. I am confident that together we have the capability to work towards being the best version of ourselves.
