Hi, I’m Jennifer Ray. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from Southern California. I describe my approach to therapy as present, caring, and warm. I treat patients with depression, anxiety, stress, and grief. My approach I practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I use traditional talk therapy to help my patients gain insight into their thoughts and behavior. My focus I am open to working with patients from all walks of life. I’m most comfortable working with patients who have been diagnosed with or have symptoms of Major Depression, Generalized Anxiety, and Panic Disorder. I am confident working with patients who are experiencing stress from work, relationships, caregiving, and parenting. I also work with grief and loss. My communication style I ensure my patients feel heard and validated in their unique experiences. I help patients with coping skills and gaining a new perspective on difficult situations. My journey to therapy I love listening to people and being a constant in their life. I don’t shy away from difficult situations or emotions. I feel like I have a calming and comfortable presence. I constantly learning about therapy techniques to help my patients. My goals for you I prefer to ask patients what a value-based life looks like for them. What areas of their life need improvement? I ask patients to focus their goals on four areas: leisure, relationships, health, and career/education. My first session with you The first session can be the most emotional because it takes a lot to ask for help. I will ask various questions about psychiatric, medical, and personal history. This is necessary to formulate a diagnosis (if there is one). I will give education on what to expect from treatment. We will go over something called an informed consent and safety plan if necessary.
