About

Welcome! Congratulations on deciding it is time to seriously consider going to therapy. There is something inside of you that is saying you deserve a more fulfilling life than the one you are living now, and you are absolutely right, we all deserve to maximize our joy on the little time we have in this world. Lean into that voice, it is urging you to become the person you yearn to be, the disciplined individual who prioritizes themselves and their physical and mental health, who knows when to say no, who sets boundaries with others, communicates effectively, can regulate their emotions, challenge their negative thoughts, increase their self-worth, develop their personal interests and passions, and recognize when it is time to relax and take a break and do so like it is second nature. From your early experiences, you have developed defense mechanisms to protect your integrity, however these mechanisms can be maladaptive and either never have or no longer serve their purpose. Here we are now, confused on how we got here and just wanting to feel different, but with practice, we can get to the other side together. It takes work to adopt new perspectives and new habits, it does not happen overnight, but it is very possible. All I ask of you is to remain motivated to consistently attend sessions, be open to new ideas and strategies, and communicate with me about any grievances you may have about our sessions so we can remain on the same page and I can do my best to make you feel more comfortable and heard. Individuals I have primarily worked with have been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, social anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder, panic disorder, OCD, bipolar I and II disorders, and schizoaffective disorder. These individuals may have struggled with lack of motivation, feelings of hopelessness or helplessness, sleep issues, low self-esteem, over worrying, restlessness, isolation, trauma, intrusive thoughts, impulsive behaviors, panic attacks, mood swings, anger issues, and more. I implement a strengths-based approach, focusing on personal strengths and creating individualized goals to build on what already works for you. I respect you, I am here for you, and hope you take that next step in connecting with a therapist.
