About

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 500) with Yoga Alliance. I have had a long-standing interest in wellness and holistic health and utilize these approaches professionally with my clients. I have worked in the mental health field for over twenty years in public hospitals, day treatment programs, community counseling agencies, and part time private practice. Additionally, I have completed 500+ hours of training in yoga, with emphasis on emotional well-being and therapeutic yoga.
Seeking additional support through counseling is courageous and opens the door to explore what is possible to create. The path of life is not a straight one, often with many twists, turns, and unforeseeable circumstances. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside you to help you navigate the journey of your life. Partnering together creates support you can use to explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, relationships, and existing patterns in your life. Looking at these parts of your life can be utilized to cultivate new possibilities; build on existing skills and strengths; develop healthy coping strategies; create strong support networks, and use integrative strategies to enhance empowerment, self-awareness and self-compassion as vehicles of facilitating change in your life. All of these are important aspects in moving toward overall well-being and optimizing your potential to grow more fully and completely as a person.
I utilize a collaborative, integrative, mindfulness and strength-based approach to counseling, drawing from multiple theories. Counseling is a safe place to explore and practice new skills and ways of being, including listening to your own internal wisdom. I integrate yoga-based modalities including breath and body awareness practices into counseling sessions. Anchored in the breath and body, rather than just the mind, space is created to explore change and growth. Inner strength, wisdom, & stillness are cultivated allowing the mind to be settled with clarity of thought, intention, and release from limiting beliefs. Rooting in the breath and body, creates a state of ease in which decisions are easier, emotional reactions lessened, resilience is heightened, & connection with one’s wholeness is activated. This is what I hope to share with you as a partner walking with you along the journey of your life.
