Hi there! - I'm Jenn Lamaj (pronouns: she/her/hers) a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing telehealth services to adults residing in New York, New Jersey and Florida. As a born and raised New Yorker, who identifies as bi-racial (Eastern European and Spanish) I have been lucky to have had exposure to a wide variety of persons and lifestyles, which has informed my practice and how to "meet people where they're at". Having worked several years for a prestigious addiction treatment agency, my experience is not only substance use and recovery but also in helping individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, sexuality, eating disorders/problematic eating, relationship strain, boundaries, and communication issues to name just a few. Feedback for me, is often that clients feel “seen”, “heard”, and “cared for” in my presence. I provide a compassion centered approach trying to move people from feeling overwhelmed to empowered. In our work together, we will not only process issues but develop coping skills to aid you in regulating emotions and behaviors outside of sessions. It's really important in my practice that you feel safe, non-judged, and that privacy is respected so you may feel comfortable in sharing. I use a variety of evidence-based interventions including motivational interviewing, cognitive, behavioral, and relational based therapies, Intuitive Eating, etc. I hold a Bachelor’s degree from New York University and Master’s degree from Columbia University.
