I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Michigan. I achieved my Master's degree in 1991 while also working and raising my 3 children who were all under the age of 10 at the time. I believe this experience helped me develop empathy for those who struggle with work/life balance. I have over 15 years of clinical experience, and have worked successfully with children, youth, adults and families. I have experience in helping others in areas including parenting, family and other relationships, and work and life satisfaction. I have also worked with individuals who are coping with illness and disability. My experience has been primarily at public mental health agencies, but I have also had private clients. I have lived in a number of places in the US, and have always enjoyed getting to know people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. My approach to therapy is a mixture of client-centered and solution-focused approaches, with empathy and a focus on the present. I am non-judgmental and inclusive in my attitude. We will work together to develop goals and strategies for achieving them. I solicit and accept feedback on how things are going, and whether our time together is helpful to you in achieving your goals. I believe that all people have the ability to make improvements in their life, and that making the decision to enter therapy is a big step in achieving that change.
