About

My name is Jennifer Harmon. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, providing telehealth services in Utah and California. I approach therapy as a partnership in which you are the expert in your own life and I am a support to help you reach your goals and optimum health. My approach My approach to therapy varies based on the unique needs of the client. Most often I use cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy. I, also, love incorporating writing, art, and music in my treatment approaches. My focus I have had the opportunity of working with many different clients, whether it is individuals, families, groups, or couples. My approach has been most helpful in the treatment of sexual issues, whether addiction, or perpetrator or victim of sex crimes. I, also, have had extensive experience in working with adolescents and adults struggling with addiction, as well as with mood disorders including depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. My communication style My communication style is honest, open, and personable. My goal is for every client that I meet to feel comfortable and feel that they can be honest and true to who they are, while working with me. I truly believe that we all are the experts in our own lives and strive to meet the client where they are at and communicate in a style in which they feel most comfortable. My journey to therapy During my teenage years, I experienced trauma, loss, and a lot of life changes. It was, at this time, that I learned that I needed support, but that I could also support others. Throughout my life, I have endured a lot of trials that have made me stronger and more understanding to various life stressors that many of my clients are experiencing. My goals for you My typical approach is to help clients to identify their goals and then assist them into developing a plan, with small and measurable steps, that will enable them to feel they are making progress.
