About

I have a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington awarded
May 2005 and a Master’s of Arts degree in Counseling from Webster University, awarded July 2007. I
have had 10 years of experience working with children, adults and families.
During my work experience I have worked with children as young as 4 through adults through the age
of 75. Therapy to me means change. I am here to help you make those changes that you want in your
life. This may be as simple as feeling emotionally better or as complicated as changing long-standing,
family, or individual behavior patterns.
My theoretical beliefs are to a combination of many theory’s structured toward whatever your needs
are. But to simplify that my theoretical approaches are cognitive behavioral, person-centered,
existentialism and problem solving therapy. This means that we collectively come together and
establish a new way of living and problem solving that is the less hurtful and more productive that
those in your past and also focus on the things that have worked for you in the past. Various
techniques include: interpretation and understanding of particular diagnosis, behavior modification,
teaching couples and parents communication and structuring techniques, conflict resolution, problem
solving skills, also utilizing play therapy and filial play therapy with children and their parents.
In my recent experience I have had experience with diagnosis such as gender identity disorder, bi-polar
disorder, Post-traumatic stress disorder, oppositional diagnosis disorder, Attention deficient disorder
and Attention deficient hyperactivity disorder, depression, and career and job related issues
