About

Hello! My name is Jenna Seto. I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of California. I have over seven years of experience working in the mental health field. Over the course of my career, I have worked at the outpatient level (i.e. PHP, IOP, and OP), as well as in multiple high school settings. I have supported clients of all ages, but I have a true passion for working with young adults. I have the most experience working with substance abuse treatment, sexual addiction treatment, anxiety, depression, communication skills, trauma, infidelity, partners of addicts, and family conflicts.

In 2013, I received my bachelor's degree in Family & Human Development and a minor in Sociology from Arizona State University. After two years of working in the social services field, I decided to return to my alma mater and study social work. In 2018, I received my Master of Social Work degree.

My therapeutic approach is eclectic; however, I tend to lean more towards a client and solution centered approach. I try my best to meet my client where they are and provide an approach that makes sense to support the client. I believe that the client is the expert and my role is to support the client in areas that they believe need to be the focus of their therapy. I am a firm believer in the benefits of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. In other words, I support my clients to look at the correlation between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and identifying patterns that may lead to maladaptive experiences and/or coping skills.

My therapeutic style would be described as supportive, open-minded, and empathetic. Most importantly, I am non-judgemental; I will always come from a place of curiosity to understand my clients to the fullest extent. If a client is open and willing to put in the work, I will not be afraid to ask the hard, deep, and intense questions in order to help my clients meet their goals. I believe that everyone has the qualities and strength within themselves to overcome their challenges; sometimes we just need a new or different perspective to find it within ourselves.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I look forward to meeting with you, getting to know you, and supporting you in any way I can!
