Jenifer Shott is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado. She graduated magna cum laude with her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Metropolitan State University of Denver, and with her Masters of Science in Applied Psychology from the University of Baltimore in Maryland. After graduate school, Jenifer worked for many years at a community-based mental health organization in Boulder, CO, providing therapy and psychoeducation services to individuals from many different backgrounds. Jenifer opened private practice in July of 2019, inside the Calling All Angels healing and metaphysical center in Lakewood, where she also hosted classes, workshops, and other educational events onsite, sharing her passion around mental, behavioral, social, and emotional health with individuals who are interested in learning. Currently she works in private practice one day a week in Arvada. Jenifer strongly believes in the therapeutic power of knowledge and the empowerment that comes with making informed choices based on quality information. She is committed to ensuring her clients are well informed throughout the therapy process. In her private practice, Jenifer works with adults of all ages, particularly in relation to anxiety, depression, and life transitions, and she is proudly LGBTQIA+ affirming. She has personal experience with giftedness and can work well with gifted adults. She is also highly knowledgeable about many subjects that are often misunderstood or are considered non-normative or taboo, such as non-monogamy (swinging, polyamory, open relationships, etc.), sexual kinks, BDSM, sex work, and other counter-culture practices, cultures, and identities. Jenifer welcomes individuals from all walks of life who are seeking a supportive and open-minded therapist. Jenifer's theoretical orientation is rooted in Existential Psychology, and encompasses Humanistic, Feminist, and Multicultural Psychology practices as part of her Integrative approach to therapy.
