My name is Jeff Velleca, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Connecticut. I have over 7 years of experience facilitating individual, family and group therapy to individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health and substance use disorders. I have worked with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, and trauma.

I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Merrimack College in North Andover, MA, and my Master of Professional Counseling degree at Central Connecticut State University. In some of my recent positions I have been the Clinical Supervisor of a Federally Qualified Health Center, an Associate Director of an Adult Outpatient Behavioral Health Center and currently the Director for a non-profit in the state of Connecticut. Prior to management I facilitated individual, group, intensive outpatient group, and family therapy services.

I believe in a person-centered counseling approach where respect and autonomy are essential to personal growth and therapeutic connection. In addition, I utilize motivational interviewing skills, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution focused techniques to further strengthen your life skills “toolbox”. Every person’s experience is unique, and I treat every person with empathy and respect to their own life’s journey. I believe that through therapeutic alliance, increased emotional intelligence and utilizing your skills “toolbox” that each person can achieve their goals. I look forward to meeting you!
