After spending the majority of my childhood and adolescence in foster homes wherein I suffered abuse, neglect and hunger, I decided at age thirteen that I would become a therapist to help others. After on-going visualization, and therapy with several caring and competent therapists, I began to heal. When my three adolescents were fairly independent, I began my education at age thirty. I graduated with honors with a B.A. In Psychology from California State University, Northridge, in 1987, attended Loyola Marymount University, and finally finishing my M.S.W. At the University of Southern California in 1990.
I feel graced and fulfilled to have had the opportunity to assist hundreds of those in need of resolving past and present crisis and traumas, relationship challenges, chronic illness, grief, and other issues, often leading to depression and/or anxiety.
My treatment approaches are many, but primarily Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and my manner is direct and supportive.
