My name is Jason Martin and I am a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) in Maryland with more than 20 years of experience in the behavioral health field. I have a master's degree from Johns Hopkins University in Clinical Community Counseling which I obtained in 2010. I also have a doctoral degree in psychology (Psy.D) from Walden University. I have worked in a variety of settings throughout my professional career and have significant experience in working with individuals with depression, anxiety concerns, and substance use/misuse issues. I specialize in working with individuals who are in transition from adolescence into adulthood but have experience working with all ages of individuals.
When working with clients, I take a warm, sensitive approach that also has a twist of planning and action integrated within. I traditionally use motivational enhancement and brief solution-focused interventions in my sessions while taking a person-centered approach to all concerns. I also look at each individual through a narrative approach, seeking to guide individuals through their sessions by focusing on the strengths of each individual and the belief that each individual knows themselves better than I do.
