About
I am a certified professional counselor (CPC) and licensed mental health practitioner LMHP in Nebraska. For several years I have worked with a variety of clients who have a wide range of concerns including; depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, parenting problems, OCD, life changes, burnout, anger issues, foster care, adoption, and various forms of addiction.
For many years I felt called to the caring profession, and through the counseling career I am now living the dream of connecting with people and walking with them through their pain, while offering hope and encouragement that empowers change.
My therapy style is always authentic, supportive, and engaging, as I genuinely love to connect with other people. I’m a laid-back calm individual, and that is reflected in my therapy style. I seek to put my client’s world view and value system at the forefront of our conversations, and I work to lead my clients to lasting change that is rooted in their personal values and passions.
For those clients seeking a Christian perspective I utilize a Christian integrated approach to psychotherapy, which incorporates Biblical principles with the empirically verified approaches found in the science of psychology. From those approaches I utilize an eclectic style that combines solution- focused, person centered, cognitive behavioral, motivational interviewing, trauma informed, and existential therapy modalities.
I believe in therapy with all my heart as it has often helped my clients, myself , and those I love. There is an amazing thing that happens when the thoughts swirling in our heads are able to be formed into words and shared with another person. It is through that process that we begin to own our thoughts and feelings and make informed decisions and behave in ways that are consistent with our core values.
So many times in life we don’t truly know how we feel until we speak it out loud to another person. Sometimes what we are looking for is to be heard, or simply the reassurance that we are seeing things correctly and that our ideas and behaviors are within the normal limits. It is my hope that I can be that person for the clients that I serve.
