I believe the therapeutic process is intended to increase personal self awareness and flexible thinking. I offer compassionate, caring and direct communication. From my experience working with family systems and school districts, I understand the importance of grasping the environment within which a person is struggling and supporting them in making shifts to improve their quality of life. I am action-oriented and goal focused in treatment. I will work with clients to establish a clear vision of their goals and support them in reaching their goals in a comprehensive way, moving at a pace that works best for them.
I have experience working, in both an individual and group therapy setting, with people who are struggling with anxiety, depression, eating disordered behaviors, personality disorders, situational life stressors and other challenges. I utilize techniques from cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, child centered play, motivational interviewing, behavioral modification, structural family and narrative therapies, among others.
