Janie’s experience in the mental health field is vast, with over 3000 hours spent working with traumatized children, adolescents, adults, and families in clinical settings. She has facilitated various programs such as group therapy for the batterers’ intervention programs, child abuse treatment programs, anger management programs, and outpatient substance abuse treatment programs. Upon joining the LWC clinical team, she has found a safe environment for growth and learning that has allowed her to thrive as a clinician, supported and surrounded by the expert leadership team. In her practice, Janie utilizes her training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy to aid the natural healing ability of the brain and body post-trauma. In this psychotherapy method, Janie can treat a variety of different conditions through the process of resolving unprocessed traumatic experiences to allow routine healing to resume. Janie is incredibly passionate about understanding the impact of early childhood adversity and its effect on the developing brain, and its future implications for health across a lifetime. She loves the opportunity to work with LWC patients in an energetic and dynamic environment, guiding their healing journey and enabling them to live their best lives. Janie recognizes that self-care is vital for clinicians, given the amount of physical, mental, and emotional energy required to do their job. In her personal life, she incorporates meditation, individual therapy, and yoga into her practice. She also prioritizes spending time in nature and quality time with her family.
