About
I believe everyone has the right to live a life where they feel happy and safe. I utilized strength-based practices as I believe everyone has strengths they come to therapy with. I am working on becoming certified in EMDR. I have been working in this field for the past 22 years in many different capacities. I have worked with foster children in an independent living program, teaching life skills to young adults 17–22 years old. I have worked in the child welfare system for over 12 years and am very knowledgeable in this area. I have worked for a mobile crisis, providing emergency mental health services to people in the community. I have worked in a capacity where I was able to work with the elderly in assisted living facilities as well as severely and pervasively mentally ill individuals. I have worked part-time in private practice settings for five years. I am currently working within an integrated care setting where I work with a psychiatrist and provide brief interventions in the clinic setting. I also see people for ongoing therapy within the same company. I am contracted with our local domestic violence shelter to provide therapy to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse, and human trafficking. All of my experiences have been rewarding in many ways, but my domestic violence work is my passion, and I feel very honored to support survivors on their path to healing. I currently work with a wide range of people with varying concerns, including depression, anxiety, LGBT, substance abuse, severe mental illness, couples counseling, and parent-child relationship issues.
