Hello, I am Janella. I’ve been in the counseling field for over 20 years and continue to be committed to helping individuals enhance their focus on individual strengths, enhanced self awareness, and identify barriers to reaching their goals by creating an environment which is supportive, consistent, and encouraging. I focus on fostering internal and external harmony through sound therapeutic principles and respect for the uniqueness of the individual, family, and community in order to facilitate a partnership to increase person’s ability to cope with life’s stressors and challenges for the purpose of increasing overall wellness and functioning.

Professional Qualifications: Master of Arts, Immaculata University – 1999. Pennsylvania, Licensed Profession Counselor since 2010, Counselor certification from National Board Certified Counselor, Co-occurring certificate from Drexel University. ** I am pursing my license as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina via endorsement. My formal education and experienced has prepared me to counsel individuals, couples, parents, families, children, and groups.

Area of Competence: individual counseling, family counseling, parenting issues, depression, anxiety, stress management, anger management, mental health issues, self esteem, coping with life changes, LGBTQ, caregiver stress and stress of life transitions, as well as co-occurring and trauma informed therapy.

Counseling Approach: I utilize a multi-model approach to counseling which is holistic and focuses on the individual’s goals. I employ my diverse training and integrate an array of therapeutic interventions to support the individual and/or family growth which stem from Client-Center Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivation Interviewing.
