About
Hello my name is Jami Maloney and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have worked in the field for approximately 14 years, and I have work experience in opiate addiction, child-welfare (adoptions and foster care), medical (renal/dialysis and hospice), working with military members and dependents, and in mental health. My approach to therapy is with empathy and compassion and without judgment. My approach I have an eclectic approach in therapy. I explore in sessions with my clients to find techniques and coping strategies that are a good fit. I focus highly on building the therapeutic relationship with clients to promote a non-judgmental, open and safe environment for my clients so they can grow to meet their goals. My focus I am a client-focused therapist and am dedicated to advocating for my clients and ensuring that my treatment meets their needs. I promote open communication so any questions and concerns are addressed. I am experienced in treating grief and loss, trauma and abuse, depression, anxiety, adjustment, chronic pain, substance use, family trauma, and locating resources. My communication style I am approachable and empathetic and have an open style of communication. I want clients to leave my session feeling supported and understood. If I am not meeting the needs of my client, I want them to let me know! I work to demystify the mental health process by answering questions and discussing expectations. My journey to mental healthcare I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a healer. I am highly empathetic and am driven to help those most vulnerable in society. I want others to know that someone is listening and cares about their journey. My goals for you First I explore by assessing the needs of the client. Together, we create goals that are specific to their needs. I revisit client goals periodically in session to determine progress. This helps me determine if a different approach or treatment is beneficial.
