Welcome. My approach is psychosocial, a blend of Humanistic and Existential, informed by Rankian and systems theory, a smattering of depth psychology, and a few things I re-purposed from the Men’s Movement. A client-centered orientation is crucial to explore how relationship to self and others impacts our physical and emotional health as people everywhere seek common life goals. From my experience working with combat veterans, as well as families, couples, foster kids and runaway teens, victims of stroke and brain injury, schizophrenics, sociopaths, alcoholics, and homeless people, it is often helpful to clarify role of environment in our efforts to find peace and purpose in our postmodern, sometimes oppressive world. My training in the use of sustaining procedures (to offer support and reassurance), and ventilation procedures (active listening, attention to affect and encouraging verbalization) respects the body/mind’s natural yearning for health and balance by activating energies of heart and soul. Meanwhile I stay safe at home for now with wife and (mostly) Blue Zone cooking, unwind with Rocky, our Boxer-Mastiff rescue, a little exercise and country blues guitar, and not too much TV. Be well.
