Hello! My name is James Clarke and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist in California. I approach therapy with a foundation of compassion and draw from years of experience and genuine passion for serving others. My approach In my practice, I integrate a variety of therapeutic approaches; humanistic, holistic, existential, spiritual, depth, and dialectical behavior therapies. This allows for a personalized approach that suits each person's unique needs and preferences. My focus I've dedicated myself to aiding individuals and families in overcoming mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, shame, and addictions. The majority of the people I work with are looking for a deeper sense of fulfillment, enhanced focus, and increased happiness in their lives. My communication style My objective is to create a safe and non-judgmental space where you can openly discuss and reflect on your thoughts and experiences. I work interpersonally and relationally with clients, offering feedback on what you share and how I feel I can help. My journey to mental healthcare Following years in the music industry as a recording and mixing engineer, my personal encounters with psychotherapy and mindfulness sparked a deep interest in the field. This calling became clear during my graduate studies in clinical psychology. My path as a therapist has been diverse, encompassing work with adults battling addiction near Skid Row in Los Angeles, to assisting teens and families navigating distinct challenges in the hills of Calabasas.
