About

Hello! My name is Jackie Sixbey and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wyoming with ten years of experience working with school-aged children through seniors. I have worked in the mental health field primarily as a middle and high school counselor but have experience counseling individuals, families, and groups outside the school setting. I have a master’s degree in Counseling and Human Services from the University of Colorado. I enjoy working with and helping clients with various concerns, including anxiety, grief, relationship issues such as divorce and infidelity, parenting concerns, family conflict, self-esteem, confidence, eating disorders, and coping with life changes.

My counseling style is personable, supportive, and most importantly being present for my client. I primarily use a person-centered approach in which the client is the leader and I am the supporter. I am here to assist in breaking down problems, help set goals, and find manageable ways to meet them. I also often like to incorporate a rational-emotive approach that helps clients see the connections between their thought and patterns and how they affect behavior. My goal is to help my clients develop a more positive outlook on life by examining their thoughts and beliefs and if necessary, working together to reconstruct them so they may reach their fullest potential.

I work towards the foundation of building trust to help my clients find their way through tough times. I have lived coast to coast in the US and many places in between. I have lived and worked on isolated ranches and have taken the subway to work in a large city. I have learned to appreciate, enjoy and celebrate our differences and uniqueness as individuals without judgment.

I would love to talk and begin assisting you in developing positive strategies and celebrate as you move forward.
