Jacqueline Paul-Okyere Benya is a black therapist and founder of Embrace Therapy and Consultation. As a licensed mental health counselor, she is passionate about serving the BIPOC community. It is often in these communities that people have suffered through systemic oppression and by having their voice stifled or being overlooked in spaces where they make the most impact. Jacqueline obtained her BA and MA from CUNY – City College. Since 2013, she has supported and facilitated change in outpatient, inpatient, and hospital settings. Through the use of evidence-based techniques such as multisystemic therapy (MST), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and motivational interviewing (MI) and using integrative and multicultural approaches, Jacqueline has effectively been able to build meaningful relationships in which she advocates, empowers, and promotes healing for families, youth, and individuals dealing with loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, and life changes and events.
