About

***Please Note: Jacqueline Smith is a provider within Headway’s provider network. After booking your appointment you will receive an email from Headway with instructions to setup your Headway patient account. You will need to complete this setup in order to confirm your appointment.*** What should your client know about you? I’m Jacqueline! I am a Texas Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate. Being collaborative means surrendering the invisible pressures to know it all, to be the expert, or to assume I know what's best for my client. I have learned that the client is always the expert of themselves, and I have learned how to be a co-traveler and follow their lead. What is your approach to therapy? I will bring with me listening skills, openness, and curiosity into the session. The power of curiosity allows for the expansion of perspectives, understandings, and solutions to be discovered. As a result, clients usually walk away feeling heard and validated. The beautiful happenings of being heard and validated can be a very healing conversation. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you? Sessions are 53 minutes. During the first session, I'll go over the paperwork and answer any questions. The session will then be open to talk about whatever you would like to talk about. I will listen to you, ask thoughtful questions, and offer tools that could be helpful for your needs. At the end of the session, you will be invited to schedule your next session. I've been told my compassionate and respectful online presence helps clients feel at ease and comfortable to do the work.
