About
Hi there, I'm Jacqueline! Jacqueline Woods, PhD(C), LPCC, NCC is a licensed psychotherapist specializing in anxiety, trauma, and grief. She uses Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and works with clients to manage stress, build resilience, improve mindfulness, and increase emotional well-being. My approach Therapy is client-centered. Goal-directed therapy - treatment goals, cognitive restructuring. CBT teaches coping skills for dealing with different problems. It focuses on how thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes affect feelings and actions. The goal of CBT is to help the individual understand how their thoughts impact their actions. There are three pillars of CBT, which are identification, recognition, and management. My focus I typically work with military families as well as active-duty military personnel. I also work with women, children, and men. I prefer telehealth settings. My communication style I ensure clients that the session is about them. I am there as a guide. We are working to build a toolbox to tell them with positive thinking and interventions that they can use to help them through life. My journey to therapy I started my career as a therapist after being a school counselor. I am attracted to the field of mental health because I desire to make a difference in the lives of others. I come to the counseling field with many years of experience as a black woman, a mother, a mother a special needs child, a student, a single parent as well as a wife. I am active in advocating for my clients who are unable to advocate for themselves. My goals for you Goal setting starts in Session 1 Client and I work on setting SMART goals. Smart goals are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timed.
