About

Are you struggling and looking for support and someone to help navigate through a difficult time in your life? There is hope!

My name is Jackie Holmes. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of California. I have been working in the field of counseling for the past 13 years. I have worked in a variety of settings including schools, intensive outpatient therapy, private practice, and group settings. I use evidenced based treatments, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness. I stay involved in ongoing training in order to gain new insights as to how I can best serve the needs of the individuals I work with. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults. I have experience working with individuals who have concerns with anxiety, depression, grief, family conflict, relationship concerns, and trauma. I also have a lot of experience working with issues of parenting and working with individuals with cognitive disabilities.

I believe one of the most important aspects to seeking a therapist is ensuring they are a good fit. It’s essential that you find someone who you feel comfortable to talk with. My style as a therapist is friendly, open-minded, non-judgmental, empathetic, and interactive. I try to get to know you, help you discover your strengths, help you establish goals, then work with you to attain them. I think it is important to develop a plan together and adjust it accordingly as we move along. I believe you will find me easy to talk to. I am casual in my style, but determined and focused when it comes to our work together. I do not judge or discriminate. I invite diversity in my practice. I am excited to work with you regardless of your lifestyle choices, religion, cultural background or race.

My dedication to the field of mental health is driven by my personal experiences. I see firsthand the daily challenges individuals have coping with their concerns. A word that defines my practice is “Hope”. I think counseling is a positive way to discover that one can grow and and find hope in their situation. Having hope is important to the very act of being a human being. As Dr. Judith Rich writes, “Hope is a match in a dark tunnel, a moment of light, just enough to reveal the path ahead, and ultimately the way out.” Finding hope and growing is a process and takes time, but I believe together we can work toward your goals. I would love the opportunity to work with you!
