Jacinda Jackson has extensive experience in the areas of anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, LGBTQ issues, family systems and conflict resolution. She uses her background in both therapy and fine arts to create treatment plans that are creative and client centered. She covers a diverse population and their needs by combining expressive arts therapy with evidenced based practices. She has been in practice for 13 years serving children, families and adults in multiple environments such as home-based, office, and residential settings.
Jacinda has specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). She earned her instructor certificate in Youth Mental Health First Aid, teaching skills for providing initial help to young people experiencing mental health problems such as depression, anxiety disorders, psychosis and substance abuse disorders.
Jacinda’s approach is collaborative and primarily strength-based and client-centered. Jacinda works with clients to help empower them by teaching coping skills tailored to their personal goals and by providing hope to those she serves to find their own voice and inner strength.
