I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with years of experience treating children, adolescents, adults, and families seeking to overcome stressors that get in the way of leading a fulfilling life. My passion is to work with individuals and families to help overcome emotional, behavioral, and relational difficulties. I approach clients with empathy and compassion to identify their strengths. I strive to make the individuals I work with feel welcomed, accepted, and understood regardless of the issues they are struggling with. I have experience working with a broad range of issues, such as anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, emotional disturbance, behavioral issues, change of life, relationship issues, divorce, grief and loss, self-esteem issues, self-harm behaviors, communication skills, anger management, conflict resolution, parenting skills, co-parenting skills, attachment issues, trauma, childhood adjustment, substance use, domestic/dating violence, and survivors of abuse or neglect. I provide therapy in both English and Spanish. I utilize several different approaches and techniques drawn from recognized therapeutic modalities including Play Therapy, Experiential Theory, Gestalt Theory, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused, Client-Centered, Trauma-Focused TFCB, Narrative Therapy, Attachment Theory, Seeking Safety, Motivational Interview, Structural Family Therapy and a variety of family systems therapy approaches. I received a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University Long Beach. I started my clinical practice in community mental health agencies serving clients in underserved communities with acute mental health disorders. I have extensive experience with field-based crisis services, school-based counseling, outpatient mental health services, child-adolescent prevention, and substance use disorders.
