Hello, my name is Ian Hansen and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has worked with children, families and adults in multiple settings. I have experience working with children and families involved with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), Children and Adults with Trauma, and those in danger of being homeless or who are already homeless. I am also experienced with using evidenced based practices to assist my clients with increasing their ability to cope with their situation and move forward over time. In terms of Evidence Based Practices (EBP’s) that I have experience with include but are not limited to Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Managing and Adapting Practices (MAP), Seeking Safety, and Parent-Child Interactive Therapy (PCIT). In my work with my clients, I attempt maintain a safe and non-judgmental session atmosphere and promote encouragement, provide empathetic support, and a positive attitude in order to foster growth. I consider treatment to be a collaborative approach and will work with my clients to the best of my ability to assist them with achieving their goals and work through any barriers to treatment that might arise.
