Hi! I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 13 years' experience treating children, adolescents, families, and individual adults with a variety of behavioral health concerns, in a wide range of settings, and using multiple evidence-based models of treatment. The wide range of settings include: hospitals, Hospice, and a street children organization in Uganda, East Africa; the homes and immediate communities of juvenile offenders in New Mexico; inner city schools of Baltimore and Johns Hopkins Hospital Pediatric Emergency Department; a medical home in inner city Boston serving a very diverse population; a variety of Knoxville, TN youth organizations; and for the last few years, private practice with clients of all ages.

It is in the private practice that I have advanced my work with adults, and now, I deeply resonate with my adult clients and find the therapy is very effective! In addition to some of the more common struggles, such as depression and anxiety, I am passionate about and have been developing my work with maternal mental health- women/couples experiencing infertility, issues that might impact pregnancy, and postpartum disorders. Like many therapists, I use a variety of therapeutic models, but currently, I find that Acceptance Commitment Therapy often delivers the best results.

Regardless of model and strategies used, I truly view my work with clients as a privilege to “bear witness” to their experiences, pains, and stories, and to strive towards clients’ goals collaboratively. I am excited to use this modern format to support people in living their lives according to their values and in pursuit of their goals.
