Hi there, I'm Herbert! My name is Herbert Wright and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in Humanistic / Existential, CBT, Object Relations, Solution Focused, and Structural Family Therapy. My approach I prefer a Humanistic Approach to therapy. My focus I have worked with various clients who have had issues with Substance abuse, Sexual Abuse, Schizophrenia, Grief and Loss, Abandonment, Isolation, Borderline Personality Disorder, Nightmares, Insomnia, Suicide, At-risk youth, open Department of Children and Family Services, Probation, Court Ordered, Family Reunification, Career Planning, Coaching, Spiritual, Trauma, and Religious issues My communication style I prefer to build rapport by asking questions that help develop the relationship. I do active listening, positive feedback, and empathy to engage the person. My journey to mental healthcare I have taught school and worked with at-risk children and families during the reunification process which has helped to give me a better understanding of the family unit. My goals for you I tend to meet the client where he or she is at. I allow the client to determine their own goals and provide assistance as needed. My first session with you I usually try and ask questions that the person is comfortable with answering.
