About

Are you looking for a therapist that feels relatable and like a real person? If you’re anything like I was when I first saw a therapist as a young adult, you crave that authenticity from your counselor. I promise to never ask you “and how does that make you feel?” with a straight face. Don’t get me wrong, I *will* ask about your feelings, but I’m not into going through the motions and acting a role. Do you want to spend the time and effort it takes to get down past surface symptoms to the real deep work, to be able to live more comfortably in your own skin, to be able to feel your emotions, not just think them? If so, contact me.

I’ve spent most of the last 10 years working with & relating to young adults (18-35) and helping them through problems from substance use to depression and anxiety. I’m trained in EMDR and Neurofeedback, and ran a couple residential & outpatient substance & mental health facilities. More recently, I have operated a private practice for a couple years- first in Arizona, now in California. I’ve also spent over a year of my life outside doing wilderness & adventure therapy.

I've got a pretty decent set of clinical tools from my time working in counseling so I tend to tailor my approach to meet your needs. I use CBT and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) tools to help address some distressing symptoms, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help with some relationship and attachment issues, as well as a general psychodynamic approach to helping you make connections about why your patterns exist. And I have EMDR (and tools for doing it online) as well as a few other trauma treatment approaches. I'd still say my best asset, though, is that I’ve had my own share of pain and shame- I’m not going to judge yours. So let’s get to it.
