My name is Helen, and throughout my life, I've been known as a people-helper. It is a reputation I hold with honor and with joy. As a therapist, I work with children, adolescents, and adults, with approaches for each that help to address their unique presenting needs. Among the approaches I use most are cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy skills, and similar approaches to help begin and implement lasting changes that empower you, and reduce shame and guilt. I also work with you to help reduce the impacts of interruptions to your functioning, like unwanted behaviors or unwelcome thoughts. My goal is to help you determine ways to be more well, and map out the changes needed with you. I have a collaborative, "team' oriented approach to assisting you with your goals for therapy.Although there are always times a therapist might wish they had a magic wand to help clients, we can create something better and longer lasting– the capacity to be well, within the life you are living.
