About

Hello! My name is Heidi York, I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC), licensed addictions counselor (LAC) as well as a certified marriage and family counselor. I graduated with a master's degree in clinical psychology from Regis University in Colorado. I have had over 20 years of experience with diverse populations of individuals including: armed forces, rural, gang affiliated, physically challenged, incarcerated, different countries and various social economic backgrounds. I am adapt at and have utilized a variety of counseling modalities, including but not limited to solution focused, cognitive behavioral, experiential, motivational interviewing, mindfulness and equine psychotherapy. (Kinda funny. I actually had a friend who had a 500 + head llama ranch, so we used llamas instead of horses. Created some amazing memories for me and my clients). Secondary to the type of therapy I use is the importance of establishing and maintaining a strong and healthy therapeutic relationship with each individual I support. By doing so, I have been able to help individuals from diverse backgrounds with a wide array of issues; depression, grief/loss, stress, anger, relationship distress to name a few. Regardless of whether your need for seeking counseling is one of these matter or something else, please reach out to me and give me the chance to see if I can offer some relief. I welcome the opportunity to meet you.
