After many years on other career paths, I earned a master’s degree in Community Counseling from Troy University, Montgomery, AL. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Alabama and Florida. After living 40 years in East Central Alabama, I moved to South West Florida.
My unique career history and life experiences provide insight into the struggles many face every day. After receiving counseling myself by a caring therapist, I felt the strong desire to pay it forward by helping others. For the last ten years, I have been blessed to serve others in their struggles with daily life. My counseling focuses on bringing to light a client’s irrational thoughts and guiding them to healthy rational thinking. This involves helping clients to acquire new coping skills to deal with the stresses of everyday life.
I have extensive experience in the addiction field as I completed my internship at a treatment facility and have worked in both treatment centers and dual diagnosis unit in a psychiatric hospital helping those with substance abuse.
