About

I am a strong believer in the power of talk. Talking heals. Many people shy away from connecting with a therapist because they feel they have plenty of support from friends, family, and even co-workers - why would they need a therapist? While I agree that the support from loved ones is essential to a happy and healthy life, the benefit of a counselor is having an uninvolved ear, an unbiased, and non-judgmental person who can help the individual look at their life in ways a friend or family member may not be able to within the scope of a personal relationship. I have always felt that the relationship between client and therapist has the potential to be one of the most positive and empowering ones for an individual. Whether you want to talk about your childhood, your current life situation, or make plans and set goals for your future, I can promise you a warm, caring environment and empathetic ear. I specialize in helping individuals navigate the difficult transitions we all find ourselves in throughout our lives - whether it is relationships, social stress, education or career changes, or personal matters. I have extensive experience working with LGBTQQIA+ people who may not feel they are getting the ideal support they need to fully feel safe and understood in their own personal journey. I also specialize in working with individuals who struggle with anxiety and worry, helping clients to identify triggers to panic, anxiety, and stress and develop healthy coping skills to navigate everyday life. I work with those struggling with generalized anxiety that permeates everyday tasks, panic disorders that disrupt and distress, and OCD, an anxiety disorder that manifests in obsessions and compulsions. My Master's degrees in psychology and social work put me in a unique position to be able to help clients identify both emotional and social triggers that may be impacting their ability to manage and cope with unpleasant feelings and unhelpful behaviors.
