Hello, I am so glad you are reaching out! My name is Heather and I am a board certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Oregon, currently practicing as a therapist in Portland. I am also certified in addictions counseling in Oregon. My education and professional background have given me a unique approach to counseling that is holistic, strength-based, and culturally thoughtful and inclusive. I have advanced experience working with adults and adolescents struggling with addiction, shame, and trauma. Although the reasons people seek counseling can seem similar, I have enormous respect for how issues uniquely impact people’s lives. As I work with clients, I offer education and guidance in using a variety of evidence-based therapies that are tailored to best match the uniqueness of the people I work with.

People come to counseling for a variety of reasons – relational struggles, sadness, grief, anxiety, life stressors, or perhaps just a general sense that something is wrong. These issues can begin to feel overwhelming on our own. At that same time, reaching out for help can feel vulnerable and frightening at first. I have immense admiration for people taking the first step in asking for help. My therapeutic approach is warm, person-centered, and honest. I strive to build a non-judgmental, trusting relationship with my clients where we can explore what is causing discomfort and move towards growth and healing. I believe every person has wisdom and expertise that is intuitive; I aim to help people rediscover their selves so they can reach their dreams and live rich and meaningful lives.
