I am a licensed social worker in the state of Washington with over 10 years of experience in a variety of office, community, and residential settings with adults, kids, teens, and families. I received my Masters of Social Work with a dual mental health and chemical dependency focus from the University of Washington in 2011 and have a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies (concentration in Social Sciences) from The Evergreen State College. I have additional educational and clinical hours in the treatment of substance use disorders and have practiced as a Substance Use Disorder Professional in WA.

I practice from a person-in-environment (or ecological) orientation. This means I am interested in all areas of my client’s life and how those domains interact with and provide context for the distress they are experiencing. As a clinician, I am client-centered and strengths-based. I believe the strongest indications of success in a therapeutic relationship are trust/rapport building and an unconditional positive regard for those who allow me into their lives, regardless of age.

I draw from an eclectic toolbox of evidence-based methodologies and interventions, including mindfulness-based approaches, cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure and response prevention, dialectical behavioral skills, relapse prevention, harm reduction, motivational interviewing, and the expressive arts. I bring humor, creativity, and curiosity to all my sessions.
