Hello! My name is Heather, and I am a licensed clinical social worker as well as a certified perinatal mental health professional. I believe strongly in the power of connection, connecting to your authentic self, establishing meaningful relationships, and igniting your passion. I enjoy working with adults as they move through various life stages. Life might not look like you imaged it would and it’s tough when reality is so far from expectations. My work focuses on helping people find fulfillment in their lives, break patterns of harmful behavior and learn to look differently at yourself and your thought patterns to improve your relationships and your life. I utilize mindfulness, narrative therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy to help heal old wounds and rewrite your future in a way that feels genuine and full of promise and opportunity. I have spent the last 20 years working within domestic and international adoption, labor and delivery and neonatal intensive care hospital units and substance misuse treatment programs. I currently work as an educator in social work higher education. I am also a mother of three busy teenagers and have lived in Central New York for most of my life. I love to travel and spend time with friends and family near and far. I am a huge music lover and although I have absolutely no musical ability, I am content with this fact because every band needs fans! I believe in the healing power and connective abilities of the arts. I enjoy spending time in nature (preferably barefoot), camping and taking my dog for a leisurely hike.
